Ronnums Herrgård dates back to the 1300s. The first owner of Duke Erik, son of Magnus III of Sweden took over the place some 20 years. In the Nordic Seven Years’ War in the late 1500s all the farms were burnt down by the Danes and Norwegians, while local people entrenched on Halleberg. Bengt Svenske who owned the mansion was commissioned by the king to burn and kill in Bohuslän, he went against the king’s commandment and were sentenced til death. He survived by making Ronnums Herrgård in mortgages.
By the mid-1700s purchase Dittmer the mansion. He built the current main building with its two wings. The west wing and the main building is intact. The east wing was burning in the early 1900s and rebuilt 1951.
When Arvid Virgin in 1847 sold the estate to Baron Nils Ericson, known railway and canal builder, was the deed of sale to the big bronze bell at each change of ownership would be sold separately. This money went to the poor of the parish. Nils Ericson was also the owner Nygårds property and for many years he leased Ronnums Herrgård to the famous bear-hunter and author Llewlyn Lloyd.
Nils Ericson laid the foundation for Wargön AB as 1915 bought the mansion of a German descendant Breithaupt-Meyer. They built many of the existing houses in the park as director residences.
